Cricut Expression - Become a World Traveler
It was a beautiful lazy summer day and I sat contemplating just where my Cricut Expression projects were going to take me next. With school out, it is time for family vacations and everyone’s favorite, road trips!
On a recent flight home from Europe, I requested an aisle seat to stretch my legs at every opportunity, unbeknownst to me my traveling companions would be a pregnant woman sitting in the middle seat and her 5-year-old son at the window. As you can imagine, I spent most of the flight standing up to let them make countless trips to the restroom.
Her son was amazingly well behaved, (I teach pre-school!) and during the long flight home, his Mom and I struck up a conversation about scrapbooking and making travel photo albums for children to look back and see all the places that they had visited. What are the odds, she owns a Cricut Expression too! So we had a lot to talk about.
My seatmate and her son were traveling back from Italy and she wanted to have a keepsake album displaying all the Italian relatives they had met for the very first time. We talked about how young children could add their own personal touches to a road trip journal. After the baby was born, she planned to make a travel memory book for her son using her Cricut Expression and a baby book for the newborn on the way.
I have always heard that when going on a journey, half the fun is getting there and that is definitely true using a Cricut Expression! It makes a scrapbooking hobby so much more enjoyable. Half the fun is in making the scrapbooks and the other half is in seeing the delighted expression on the faces of those you love.
I immediately thought of the Cricut cartridges, Going Places to use in a road trip diary layout. When I shared this idea with a friend, she told me about the new Cricut cartridges, My World Cartridge!
The My World cartridge is perfect! It has images from all over, and with it, you can travel the world. There are shapes from ancient Egyptian to scenes of the American West, Africa, and the Far East. I made a Road trip layout using the Going Places cartridge. I designed the actual word, Road trip, with the Cricut cartridges, Basecamp.
That is the great part about using Cricut cartridges, in how you are able to mix and match!
One of the cartridges I use a lot with my Cricut Expression is Accent Essentials. This cartridge is only available bundled with the new purchase of the Cricut Expression machine. It adds the perfect accent to any scrapbook page, craft, or project. The cute paisleys, flowers, and shapes are adorable.
Scrapbooking is a learn as you go adventure. The Cricut Expression can take you and your hobby to any place your imagination can dream. If you desire to go to Egypt some day, go ahead and make a scrapbook and all that will be left is to experience the moments and place the pictures in the spaces saying, “I was here!” Bonjour, aloha, adios.
